Pippa Elliott  BVMS MRCVS

Main Image

Job Description: Veterinary Surgeon

Personal Info: Pippa's first contact with the Blythwood Veterinary Group was as a teenager when Bradley treated her dachshund, 'Paddington'. As a school student she saw practice at the Hatch End surgery and then returned to gain experience as a vet student in the mid-1980's. Pippa graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1987 to work in a Portsmouth private practice and then the PDSA. In the late 1990's her husband's job brought her back to the Hertfordshire just as the Blythwood veterinary group took over Paul Vos's practice in Bushey Village. Several years ago she joined the permanent staff and indeed feels very much part of the community in Bushey. Pippa enjoys all aspects of companion animal practice but loves the challenge of complicated medical cases and has a soft spot for Guinea pigs. Married with two teenage sons she is also housekeeping staff to five adorable cats and two guinea pigs.

Barry Cameron  BVM&S MRCVS

Main Image

Job Description: Veterinary Surgeon

Personal Info: Barry qualified from Edinburgh University in 1999, and started work at Blythwood the following September. It was Barry's first job, and he's enjoyed it so much here that he hasn't moved anywhere else! "I feel we have a fantastic team here at Blythwood with well over a hundred years of veterinary and nursing experience between us. This allows us to deliver the level of commitment and care we strive to achieve."? His passion in the veterinary field has always been domestic animals and he has a particular interest in cardiology (the study of the heart). He is currently doing a post graduate certificate in veterinary cardiology which involves investigation into heart disease in all animals, but particularly dogs and cats. It has allowed him to develop a variety of specialist skills and work with some fascinating equipment including our ultrasound machine. This is very useful for scanning hearts and is also used for looking into problems in other parts of the body. In 2006 Barry became a partner alongside Bradley Viner, Oliver Viner and Christian Levan at our sister surgery Well Animal Clinic in West Hampstead and divides his time between all the surgeries. Away from work Barry enjoys running, going to the gym and skiing. He recently completed the Blenheim Triathlon with friend and colleague Christian to help raise money for the NW Middlesex RSPCA. He contributes to pet related TV and radio broadcasts, including Sky News, Radio 4 and LBC.

Her first job was at a busy practice in Kent, but she missed the bright lights too much and returned to the "Big Smoke", where she has been a happy member of the Blythwood team since May 2006. She is interested in all aspects of small animal practice In her spare time she'll be found riding horses, playing rugby or jogging on the heath (often with several patients in hot pursuit!).
